Let’s talk about a reason why the Bible is necessary for the moral compass of humanity. In old days it gave everyone at least some standard/defined parameters or conviction when making bad choices. You saw the bible often in motel rooms, the court rooms and many other places as an option to read or study. It was deemed valuable by a nation of people who once said or believed the ideal of “One Nation Under God”. So, it was not seen as offensive to use or read the bible “WORD” in some manner. Although, some in times past have used this power to endorse their own standings, it yet gave a standard or benchmark to begin a discussion. Once again it has happened and the statement bears this truth, “There grew up a nation/generation that knew not God.” (Judges 2:10)
When we evaluate one’s self in the Light of Truth, we will find compassion and often conviction to a perspective that is not of TRUTH. Let’s move forward a few decades or generations later…After becoming more educated and believed more intelligent and technologically savvy than our predecessors – We yet struggle more than our ancestry in simpler times or days of old. We struggle as it seems more now with LIFE itself… “Or when a life becomes a life,” and “What gender should that life be?” (And yet, we’re deemed more advanced in many areas.) However, we still are spinning more out of course. This is why it is essentially needed to have a value system or moral compass which guides or supersedes our substituted personal opinions. To eliminate the WORD (BIBLE) as a whole, we risk diminishing the very TRUTH that we seek to uphold and that which upholds us! Man’s thoughts or ways are consistently evil each day. We sin – There is no one without it! There is no good within except the goodness of God which works within us to become the People of God and the Nations of God.
THE POWER TO BECOME
He sent his Word and He healed them… (We need the conviction of HIS Word that changes hearts.)
*But to ALL who received HIM, who believed in HIS name, HE gave POWER to become Children of God - (St. John 1:12)
St. John 1: In the beginning was the Word…
Genesis 1: In the beginning “God” (created the Heavens and the earth)
The Word was with God…The world was without form and void (chaos); and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
St. John 1: And the Word was God…He was in the beginning…
Genesis 1: And God said, “Let US” make man in our image and after our likeness.
St. John 1: All things came into being…through him and without him was nothing made…
Genesis 1: And the Spirit of God moved upon the waters…
St. John 1: (What came into being?) In HIM was life; and the LIFE was the LIGHT of ALL PEOPLE.
Genesis 1: And God said, “Let there be LIGHT”, and there was LIGHT.
St. John 1: The light shines in darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it!
Genesis 1: And God saw the LIGHT, that it was good; and divided the LIGHT from the darkness.
St. John 1: The Word became flesh and lived among us, and we’ve seen his glory!
The Glory of God separated the Light from the Darkness/ Chaos before making the Sun and Moon; and called it day and night. Then we find that He makes vegetation on the third day before calling the Sun and Moon (fourth day) and placing them in their chambers to rule the day and night. Therefore the vegetation had the glory to grow in the light of God before ever there was a sun and moon created on the fourth day. God didn't even need the sun or moon for the vegetation; but used these great and lesser lights to rule the days for time and seasons. He chose to need them as he chooses to need us! All we need is the Glory of God! As in the beginning, so shall it be in the end around the throne of God where no Sun will be needed to light the Heavens. We will bask in the beauty of His glorious light and heavenly embrace!
Prayer: Oh God, help us to see the LIGHT of your glory which divides the darkness. Divide the darkness once again which seeks to divide the nations! Cause your Word to live in the heart of people once again that it may have precedence over our thoughts and ways. Let your Spirit convict and guide us as we BECOME the Children and People of God.
Give us The Faith to BELIEVE
And we shall “BECOME THE PEOPLE” (The Children and Nations of God).
